FSC & PEFC

The Forest Stewardship Council (FSC®) is an international non-profit, multistakeholder organization established in 1993 that promotes responsible management of the world's forests.

The FSC's stated mission is to "promote environmentally appropriate, socially beneficial and economically viable management of the world's forests". To this end the body has published a global strategy with five goals:

- Advancing globally responsible forest management.
- Ensure equitable access to the benefits of FSC systems.
- Ensure integrity, credibility and transparency of the FSC system.
- Create business value for products from FSC certified forests.
- Strengthen the global network to deliver on goals 1 through 4.

Windles are reviewed on an annual basis to ensure that we meet the FSC standards.

Forests play a critical role for the global environment, population and economy. Besides alleviating the effects of climate change and natural disasters, they represent some of the richest biological areas on Earth. They also provide food, renewable raw materials for many of our products, and livelihoods for millions of people.

PEFC chain of custody certification provides independent verified assurance that the certified forest-based material contained in a product that Windles produce originates from sustainably managed forests.

It enables you to demonstrate your legal and sustainable sourcing of forest products to your customers and provides you with a variety of advantages that help the environment. Windles are reviewed on an annual basis to ensure that we meet the PEFC standards.
